Expertise: Dr. Holden is an African Americanist whose work focuses on the experiences of women during slavery in the American South. She is particularly interested in the ways that race, class, gender, and sexuality shaped American history. Dr. Holden is also interested in the comparative study of resistance and rebellion throughout the African diaspora.
