Job Function

Responsible for teaching, proctoring, testing, maintaining class records, advising students in the classes assigned to them, participating in meetings and taking part in professional development workshops and activities.

Responsibilities

1. To teach the courses and the groups assigned to him / her on the official schedule of classes.
2. To prepare lesson plans, assignments and quizzes and implement them effectively.
3. To maintain discipline and effective classroom management.
4. To take attendance and keep records of it for each student and each group.
5. To cooperate with colleagues, Coordinators, the Center Director, and the University Administration. 
6. To take part in proctoring duties for the Placement Tests, Quizzes, Midterm Tests and Final Exams.
7. To offer advice and assistance to students in class and during office hours.
8. To take part in marking test papers as required for the implementation of the General Foundation Program.
9. To submit all students marks and final grades for his / her courses in appropriate forms.
10. Any other duties assigned by line manager. 

Qualification

M.A. or M. Sc. in English or Applied Linguistics; or B.A. or B.Sc. in English or Applied Linguistics; or a university degree with a teaching certificate (DELTA, CELTA, TEFL, TESOL, IELTS (7) ) or (6.5) 

Experience

Teaching experience for at least two years at the tertiary level (University, College or language center, etc.).

Skills

1. Ability to work with people from diverse cultures. 
2. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally in writing.
3. Communicate effectively with students by articulating clearly, selecting vocabulary, and assessing comprehension by varying methods 
4. Ability to work under pressure and to deal with students, faculty and staff in a diplomatic manner.
5. Adapt to changing technologies and learn functionality of new equipment and systems
6. Work independently and collaboratively.
7. Ability to plan and organize work to meet changing priorities and deadlines.
