I am a two-time, large market television news director and a documentary filmmaker. I teach upper level journalism courses in producing for TV and online, the study of documentary films, as well as state and local government in the politics department, a practicum on broadcast announcing, an experiential course for students filming their own documentaries and more. I produce documentaries that have aired nationwide on PBS stations and have written documentaries for Discovery and TLC. I also write about journalism ethics, education, politics and other topics for trade publications.
