    Requirements


    A Doctorate (NQF Level 10) in English and Applied Linguistics or an equivalent qualification with at least seven (7) years of lecturing experience and/or industry experience or an equivalent combination of relevant professional experience. Competence to teach and/or develop at least four (4) of the following courses at the post-graduate level: Advance Literary Criticism, Literary Theory, African Literature, World Literature, Stylistics and Popular Literature. Competence to establish professional networks and to maintain links with the industry, as well as experience in developing under-graduate programmes. Sound research experience including twenty (20) publications in peer-reviewed journals/books/conference proceedings and successfully supervised three (3) Master’s and one (1) Doctoral (research) students. Excellent English communication skills (oral and writing). Evidence of academic leadership, active community engagement and fundraising including the successful application of research grants.
