King Faisal University, located in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia (Al-Ahsa, approximately 150 km from Dammam), announces multiple faculty vacancies at the rank of Assistant Professor (non-Saudis) in the English Language Centre (ELC), College of Arts, with anticipated starting date September 1, 2026.

Position Details

• Specializations: English Language Reading, Writing, and Speaking.


• Rank: Assistant Professor (male/female).


• Duties: Successful candidates are expected to establish an active research program and to contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following conditions:

• Hold a PhD in Applied Linguistics or Translation Studies.


• The PhD must be awarded by a university in a country where English is the native language.


• Demonstrate an academic record that includes published research or research accepted for publication in the field of specialization.


• Have at least two years of professional experience in the field of specialization after obtaining the PhD.


• Must not be currently under contract with any institution within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.


• Be available for full-time employment at King Faisal University.


• Possess good conduct and character.


• Fulfill all University requirements, including passing a personal interview.

Recruitment Procedure

1. Applications are reviewed by the relevant academic department.


2. The ELC shortlists applicants for interview.


3. Following the interview, the ELC issues its recommendation.


4. Recommended candidates receive a preliminary offer of employment.


5. Upon acceptance, the recommendation shall be forwarded to the College Dean for approval.


6. Once approved, the Contracting Department issues the official offer and initiates visa processing.
