Job Description

Teaching Assistant Professor of Writing and Humanities (Non-Tenure Stream)

The School of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (HASS) at Stevens Institute of Technology is seeking candidates for a full-time, non-tenure-track, renewable faculty appointment as Teaching Assistant Professor of Writing and Humanities to teach in our Foundations of Writing and Critical Inquiry Program, beginning in fall 2024. Candidates must hold a Ph. D. in a humanistic discipline such as history, philosophy, English, comparative literature, African American studies, gender studies or one of the social sciences.

The successful candidate will possess experience teaching at the undergraduate level in both composition and the candidate’s field of expertise and will be responsible for teaching the two courses that make up the Foundations program:  CAL 103, Writing and Communications; and CAL 105, Knowledge, Nature Culture: An Introduction to the Humanities and Social Sciences.
