Assistant Professor of American Studies and Gender Studies
Penn State Harrisburg's School of Humanities is accepting applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of American Studies and Gender Studies, for a program that offers the B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees. The Program seeks candidates with research areas in Gender Studies and American Studies. Teaching assignments may include graduate seminars in Gender and Culture and American Studies Theory and Method, and undergraduate courses in Women and the American Experience, American Masculinities, and Introduction to American Studies. At least one additional field of research (race and ethnicity, sexuality, literature, disability studies, science and technology, popular, media, and/or visual culture) is required. Candidates should have college teaching experience, a promising research and publication agenda in American Studies evidenced by scholarly productivity, and a commitment to university service and public outreach; advising and mentoring experience preferred. Ph.D. in American Studies preferred; doctoral degrees in English, History, Ethnic Studies, and other closely related fields will be considered. Doctoral degree must be in hand by time of application.
