The Department of Studies in Race, Colonialism, and Diaspora (RCD) at Tufts University is seeking a part-time Lecturer to teach between one and four courses during the 2025-2026 academic year.  Courses may include courses in Africana Studies, Latinx/Latin American Studies, Native American & Indigenous Studies as well as transnational courses treating colonialism and diaspora.

 

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to transformative pedagogy and the ability to teach introductory and upper-level courses that align with the department’s mission to critically examine race, colonialism, and diaspora across local and global contexts. Applicants with relational expertise that can teach at the intersections of these interrelated fields and offer comparative upper-level courses in addition to foundational courses are welcome.

Qualifications

Candidate must have a doctorate in a relevant field and be able to provide evidence of excellence in teaching, including evidence of creative pedagogical practice that reflects knowledge of current methodologies. Evidence of a commitment to designing curricula that address issues of equity and justice with a focus on marginalized communities.
