Susan Maneck teaches courses in European, Middle Eastern, South Asian (India) and World History. Her research has concentrated primarily on religious minorities and women within the Islamic context. Her publications include a book on the history of Zoroastrian entitled The Death of Ahriman: Culture, Identity and Theological Change among the Parsis of India as well as numerous articles on the Baha’i Faith in Iran. She has also written articles related to women’s issues for SUNY and Oxford University Press. She has held fellowships from the American Institute of Indian Studies, the American Institute of Iranian Studies as well as the American Academy of Religion.
