Kim’s research interests meet at the intersections of feminist theology, feminist theory, Asian and Asian Pacific North American religious/theological studies, transnational studies, and world Christianity. Some of the topics Kim is currently exploring include the politics of sex/gender, sexuality, and the Other in the discourse of the Protestant Right in South Korea, and implications and significance of engaging “Afro/black-orientalism” in interdisciplinary religious/theological studies on postcoloniality, (neo)imperialism, Americanness, and gendered racial formation.
