Saad Abi-Hamad is a professor of Islamic and Middle Eastern History. He was a Boren Fellow to Egypt in 2005 where he spent a considerable part of the year doing research. He was also a Churchill Scholar of the University of Texas at Austin British Studies Society, and from whom he received funds to conduct research on his project in the England. Professor Abi-Hamad returned to the both Egypt and England in 2008 for additional research at various archives. He has taught undergraduate and graduate courses on the Middle East, Islam and British imperialism. He has also been able to reach a broader audience through participation in local and regional radio and television news and talk shows on issues related to the Middle East and Islam. Prof. Abi-Hamad received his PhD from the University of Texas at Austin in 2007.
