I received my doctorate in 1972 from UCLA. My dissertation, On the Semantic Properties of Logical Operators in English, directed by Barbara H. Partee, was distributed by the Indiana University Linguistics Club in 1976. My primary research program lies in the union (if not the intersection) of classical logic, lexical semantics, and neo-Gricean pragmatic theory. I have been particularly concerned with the exploration of natural language negation and its relation to other operators.
