Expertise: My disciplinary home is writing and rhetoric studies, with interests in rhetorical education, writing development, and research methods. My historical scholarship explores sites and figures of rhetorical education that advance disciplinary histories of writing and communication. My qualitative research, often pursued in collaboration with students, explores how people develop as writers and how to teach writing effectively.
