Composition/writing studies, rhetoric, literacy studies and pedagogy. She has particular interests in rhetorical and public sphere theory, composition theory and pedagogy, and the civic contexts of writing instruction and the university. Her work has appeared in such journals as TEXT, NZJES, Student Success and Across the Disciplines, and she is currently working on projects concerning first-year student success, transition, and equity frameworks, and also writing instruction and the politics of settlement and indigeneity.
