Expertise: I work on the history of early modern Europe, with a specialty in women in pre-modern Portugal, as well as the history of crime, gender, race, children, and slavery in pre-modern Europe. Currently I am working on the history of women and children of African descent in pre-modern Portugal (funded by a research grant from Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), 2018-2023.
