  • Dr. Bhuiyan has earned his Ph.D. degree in Mass Communications from the University of Wisconsin-Madison as a World Bank Scholar. He received his M.B.A. from Texas A&M University-Texarkana. He further studied in graduate programs at Cornell University, Iowa State University, University of Dubuque, Iowa, and at the University of Philippines at Los Banos, Philippines.\n\nDr. Bhuiyan also received leadership training at the 2011 Executive Leadership & Management Institute at Auburn University. Montgomery in Alabama; 2009 Leadership Institute of Council of College of Arts and Sciences for Deans and Chairs, in Denver, Colorado. And received Professional Development training at Harvard University, Cornell University, New York University and at different professional institutes like Poynter Institute, American Society of Newspaper Editors, American Press Institute, the Dow Jones Newspaper Fund, the American Society of Newspaper Editors, and the Pew Center for Civic Journalism in USA.\n\nDr. Bhuiyan teaches a wide range of courses from Business and Communication/Journalism including, Strategic Management, HR, Organizational Behavior, Corporate Communication, and PR/Advertising sequences to Media Studies including Strategic Communication, Media Law and Ethics, Research Methods in Mass Communication, Communication Theory, Mass Media and Society and Integrated Marketing Communication. \n\nDr. Bhuiyan I led and established new opportunities and achieved the following specific, substantial positive changes in the departments, schools and graduate programs as an academic administrator by:\r\n• founding, developing, implementing and managing new graduate and undergraduate programs and curriculum;\r\n• significantly promoting programs and growing student enrollment; \r\n• leading review of academic programs and making modifications of the offerings including program addition and deletion;\r\n• leading assessment of student learning outcomes and adopting multiple pedagogies of teaching and using latest academic technology in the classrooms;\r\n• leading strategic planning and preparing four programs for accreditation and actively participating in the re-accreditation process of another departments;\r\n• participating in the institutional re-accreditation of two of the six U.S. commissions such as SACS and Middle States.\r\n• promoting diversity and globalization and supporting all efforts to enrich university community through a firm commitment to excellence;\r\n• initiating international student recruitment and study abroad programs;\r\n• supporting bachelor\'s and master\'s programs through university\'s distance and online learning centers;\r\n• increasing faculty research productivity; \r\n• raising funds and grants for new programs and students lab facilities;\r\n• building partnerships with government, business and community leaders and initiating strong university and community relations;\r\n• fostering student leadership, research and experiential learning through internship and co-op opportunities;\r\n• initiating collaboration with local high schools for student recruitment;\r\n• promoting shared governance, ethical values and social responsibility;\n\n
