The Department of History at the University of Utah seeks to appoint a tenure-track assistant professor of American history since 1865 with a research specialization in the United States military engagement in the wider world with global and integrative emphases. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to research and to research-informed teaching at all levels of the undergraduate and graduate curriculum, including upper division courses on American history, the one semester US survey, and an undergraduate course in historical methodology. In addition to a cover letter, CV, and writing sample, please submit a 1-2 page statement addressing contributions to diversity through research, teaching, and/or service.
