    Job Description Summary


    The Department of History at Auburn University seeks applications for a non-tenure track instructor in World History. The successful candidate will teach four courses per semester (primarily in-person), including the department’s two-semester core undergraduate sequence in World History. The successful candidate may also be asked to teach online dual-enrollment World History classes for high school students enrolled in the university’s Auburn First program. This one-year appointment, with possibility of renewal for up to three additional years contingent upon need and satisfactory performance, will begin on August 16, 2025.

    Minimum Qualifications


    A Ph.D. in History or a related field is required at the time employment begins; outstanding candidates who are ABD will be considered but completion of the degree is expected prior to the start of the appointment in August 2025.

    The successful candidate must meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the term of employment.

    Desired Qualifications


    Previous experience with online teaching is desired.
