    Lecturer/Assistant Teaching Professor of Communication

    The School of Humanities at Penn State Harrisburg is accepting applications for a non-tenure line Lecturer/Assistant Teaching Professor of Communication. The program seeks candidates with teaching expertise in areas such as Mass Media and Society, Media Criticism and Theory, Media Writing, and Critical Media Literacy.

    Position Requirements and Preferences:



    • The minimum educational credential required for the applicant is a master's degree in Communication, or a related field, with an emphasis on media criticism and media literacy.

    • Candidates with a doctoral degree in Mass Communication or Communication with a focus on media literacy and criticism are preferred.

    • A candidate with only a master's degree will be hired at the rank of lecturer. A candidate with a doctoral degree will be hired at the rank of Assistant Teaching professor. The degree must be completed by the time of application.

    • Full-time faculty normally teach four courses per semester. The successful candidate will have college teaching experience and a commitment to university service and public outreach. Previous experience in advising and mentoring students is preferred.



    This is a TERM, non-tenure track appointment with the possibility of reappointment, (36 weeks).
