    The Frank W. & Sue Mayborn School of Journalism at the University of North Texas in Denton invites applications for a one year appointment as a non-tenure track visiting lecturer in photojournalism to begin in the Fall 2018 semester. This full-time faculty member should be prepared to teach both beginning and advanced classes in multi-platform journalism, especially those with an emphasis on visual reporting, especially still photography. Experience teaching online courses is a plus. The faculty member will participate in department activities and serve on committees. Excellence in teaching and mentoring students are of primary importance.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    By the time of appointment, candidates must have a master's degree (or higher) in journalism, communications or another field relevant to the classes taught. The successful candidate must have significant professional experience in photojournalism. Applicants with a master's degree in other disciplines who have extensive professional photojournalism experience will also be considered. The candidate must be willing and able to mentor a diverse population of journalism students.

    The Mayborn School of Journalism: We are an ACEJMC-accredited school with Texas's only accredited journalism master's program. We are located in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, in the fifth largest media market in the country. We enroll approximately 1,200 undergraduate students and 40 graduate students. Graduates have won many national and international awards including Cannes Lions and Pulitzer Prizes. The school offers students multi-platform professional opportunities and is home to an award-winning student newspaper, the North Texas Daily (www.NTDaily.com), a community-access television station, an online radio station, and student-run photography and ad/PR agencies. The school also hosts the nationally acclaimed annual Mayborn Literary Nonfiction Conference. We offer study abroad programs in the United Kingdom, Japan, and Mexico.
