Postdoctoral Fellowship in Science Writing and Research Communication

Position Summary:
The postdoctoral fellow will work with diverse faculty at the University of Idaho to prepare technical documents for publication, lead communication efforts for scientific education, and partner with faculty to develop grant proposals in diverse fields of science.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in a STEM-related field
- Evidence of scientific writing, editing, and publishing from the Ph.D., related professional position or postdoctoral experience
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Experience overseeing all aspects of the writing process
- Experience writing clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive text for publication in print, web and other platforms
- Experience facilitating cross-disciplinary activities and projects within complex settings
- Experience understanding complex materials and synthesize across multiple sources to produce materials for diverse audiences
- Experience working with individuals across various disciplines
- Experience providing advanced planning and proposal writing in industry or academia
- Experience using independent judgement, work well under pressure, seek and synthesize information
- Experience maintaining confidentiality
- Experience in time management and organizational skills with the ability to establish timelines and best practices for research proposal development
- Experience in excellent verbal communication and in making clear, concise, and well-organized oral presentations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with individuals across various disciplines
- Familiarity with Grants.gov or other submission packages for federal funding
