Position: Post-Doctoral Fellow in History- POW/MIA Research                 Location: College of Arts and Sciences- History and Political Science

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
The DPAA Research Fellow is a two-year position. The Fellow will work in collaboration with the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA), an agency of the Department of Defense whose mission is to account for missing personnel from past military conflicts.

Collaborate with DPAA on research and analyses of historical and archival records, and related research activities that will contribute to DPAA’s mission, and which will contribute to the University’s research and programs . Collaborate with DPAA on archaeological investigations, field surveys and excavations. Attend joint meetings, travel to DPAA facilities or operational site. Provide regular written reports to the DPAA, offer oral presentations, and write historical narratives. Provide instruction to DPAA. Teach undergraduate course. Serve as a conduit between external organizations, researchers, families, students and the DPAA.

Qualifications

Ph. D. in History by the time of appointment with a field in Military History Archival and field research experience a necessity Strong written and oral communication skills

Salary
Commensurate with education, training and experience
