The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures at Villanova University invites applications for the position of continuing non-tenure track with the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor to teach Italian undergraduate courses. The appointment is expected to begin in August 2019.

Duties and Responsibilities
The Italian Studies Program is seeking a candidate who has demonstrated excellence in teaching, the ability to coordinate the elementary and intermediate course sequences, and an interest in developing the language program. The area of specialization is open, but preference will be given to candidates with expertise in the most current language and culture pedagogies, applied technologies, visual literacies, or theater and performance.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in hand, or have defended their dissertation by August 1st, 2019. Native or near-native fluency in Italian and English are required.
In addition to teaching, the candidates responsibilities will include departmental service, organizing extracurricular activities, student mentoring, and collaboration in the oversight of study abroad programs.
