The University at Buffalo invites applications for a full-time, Visiting Assistant Professor (10-month) position in applied and theoretical Romance Linguistics, preferably with focus in socio-linguistics, cross-cultural communication, creolization and language contact, and/or indigenous varieties. Candidates with two or more Romance Languages (Spanish, French, Haitian Krèyol, Italian, or Portuguese) are strongly encouraged to apply, as are those with focus on language communities of the Caribbean/Latin America. The position will begin in the 2019-2020 academic year and will require teaching 2 courses per semester with at least one graduate seminar. This is a two-year, non-tenure-track position.
The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures is a diverse and dynamic academic unit offering undergraduate majors in Spanish, French and Italian, and graduate concentrations in Spanish, French and Romance Linguistics.
