A Lecturer is a twelve-month, full-time employee who teaches 39 credits per year and provides student and learning support services during the assigned periods. The Lecturer holds a strong commitment to teaching; maintains office and advising hours for students; actively participates in the university community; and does related work as required. This is a non-tenure track position that may be renewed on an annual basis. Teaching assignments and related responsibilities may include day, evening, weekend and online courses. Interest or experience in using advanced instructional technologies to improve the teaching/learning process is highly desirable. Courses may be taught at the Union campus, Kean Ocean, Kean Skylands or other locations. All lecturers may be required to teach General Education courses. Positions are effective for the fall 2019 semester.

College of Liberal Arts

School of English Studies
ESL (English as a Second Language) Program - to teach and develop a variety of intermediate to advanced ESL reading/writing courses. Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics/TESOL or a related field and a minimum of one year of teaching experience at the post-secondary level is required. Candidate should have evidence of teaching excellence in ESL reading/writing courses. Preferred qualifications include: a Doctorate degree in TESOL/Applied Linguistics or a related field; a minimum of three years of teaching ESL reading/writing in a college environment; experience teaching or study abroad; and experience in portfolios, assessment and use of technology in the classroom, such as Learning Management Systems (e.g., Blackboard or Canvas). Other sub-areas of specialty include Writing, Composition and Rhetoric, Literacy Studies and/or Developmental Writing.
