The International Studies Department of American University of Sharjah invites applications for a visiting faculty of Middle Eastern History for the Fall 2021 semester. Successful candidates will have a PhD in History or a related field. Prior teaching experience is highly desirable but not essential. We are particularly interested in candidates who can teach Modern Arab History. Ability to teach a course on women in history a bonus. The position includes on-campus housing and moving expenses for you and your dependents.
As a university formed on the American model with English as the language of instruction, we give priority to candidates who have experience in American models of higher education. AUS is licensed and its degree programs are accredited by the Commission for Academic Accreditation of the Ministry of Education’s Higher Education Affairs Division in the United Arab Emirates.
