Primary Purpose of Position
The Department of English is accepting applications for part-time instructors in Technical and Professional Communication (TPC). Part-Time Instructors are hired on a semester-by-semester basis to teach TPC courses delivered by the Department of English. The maximum teaching load is four courses per semester. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Teaching online TPC courses, attend training sessions with TPC Faculty, participating in data collection and assessment of student learning, and submitting teaching materials as part of semester review.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The Department of English supports over 100 undergraduate majors and 30 graduate students along with providing general education and program courses in the areas of Technical and Professional Communication, Written Communication, Humanities/Fine Arts, and Knowledge of African American Literature and Culture.
Candidates must have a PhD in English with a concentration in Technical and Professional Communication, Public Writing, Professional Writing, Business and Technical Communication or Technical and Professional Discourse at the time of application.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
Candidates with 1-3 years teaching experience at the University or Community College level and with background in Technical and Professional Communication are preferred.
