The https://arts-sciences.buffalo.edu/linguistics.htmlDepartment of Linguistics at the University at Buffalo is seeking a full-time, Clinical Assistant Professor in Japanese language, for a 10-month (academic-year commitment), non-tenure track position with an initial three-year appointment with possible renewal, contingent on performance, department need, and availability of funding.
The successful candidate’s responsibilities include teaching four courses per semester possibly including a Japanese culture course. The responsibilities also include providing assistance to the Director in the development of the Japanese Program such as training and supervising graduate and undergraduate student teaching assistants and other instructors, conducting placement tests, and material development. There is no research obligation for this position, and there is potential for promotion to clinical associate professor. The position offers a competitive faculty salary and state employee benefits.
The successful candidate must be able to regularly teach in-person classes on the University at Buffalo campus beginning fall 2022.
