The Department of Communication and Rhetorical Studies in the College of Visual and Performing Arts at Syracuse University seeks a highly accomplished, dynamic, and visionary leader to serve as its Chair beginning with a preferred start date of July 1, 2023.
. The successful candidate will possess an impressive record of scholarship, as well as undergraduate teaching and graduate mentorship in communication for appointment at the rank of full professor with tenure.
The department envisions an ambitious leader and enthusiastic advocate, who will promote the Department across the university and within national and international academic and alumni networks.
We are seeking research active candidates with leadership skills, vision, and integrity, whose expertise complements the department’s current strengths in rhetoric, language and social interaction, performance, and media studies. Candidates should have demonstrated success in undergraduate teaching and graduate mentorship. The search committee is particularly interested in candidates who will contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their teaching, research, and service.
