Salary range: Assistant Professor - The current salary range for this position is $78,200-$123,400 (9-month academic year salary); however, off-scale salary and other components of pay, which would yield compensation that is higher than this range, are offered to meet competitive conditions. Associate Professor/Professor - The current salary range for this position is $96,500 - $227,400 (9-month academic year salary); however, off-scale salary and other components of pay, which would yield compensation that is higher than this range, are offered to meet competitive conditions.

Position description

The Department of Ethnic Studies at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for an open-rank, tenure-track faculty position in Native American Studies. We encourage applications from scholars in any discipline, especially those who employ Indigenous and/or collaborative methodologies and take intersectional and interdisciplinary approaches to research and teaching. Potential areas of expertise include, but are not limited to: Native American history, social movements, governance and politics, Native peoples of California, gender and sexuality studies, community studies, art, film/media studies, and environmental studies/Indigenous environmental justice.

The successful applicant will be expected to maintain an active research agenda, teach introductory, upper-division, and graduate courses, and undertake service to the department and campus.

A PhD or equivalent international degree , or enrolled in PhD or equivalent international degree-granting program at the time of application.
