The Digital Content Fellowship at the RISD Museum is a two-year, full-time position for artists, designers, or filmmakers embarking on careers in the arts and seeking an opportunity to work in a professional studio environment. The fellowship provides significant professional-practice opportunities to high-achieving college and graduate school alumni up to three years post-graduation. The fellow will have the opportunity to participate in all aspects of the RISD Museum’s creative production process. Through project-based learning, mentorship and professional-development support, the individual will develop the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary to make important contributions to the museum’s mission of access and learning.

The fellow will join an accomplished team of professionals known for creating award-winning work. Immersed in the creative production department, the fellow will gain a deeper understanding of media production by working directly on projects with informative and engaging content about the Museum’s collection, art making techniques, and exhibitions. The fellow is expected to produce work in collaboration with other Museum departments that build on the RISD Museum’s educational resources and programs. The fellow is involved in all aspects of the production process, from conception to publication and dissemination.

Ideal candidates will be firmly grounded in narrative storytelling, demonstrating an understanding of design principles and an understanding of the production process. Applicants should be committed to fostering an understanding of works of art in a museum context; possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills; and have the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
