The Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Justice Leadership (DEIJ-L) graduate program at Tufts University’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences is seeking applicants for a full-time senior lecturer position to begin in September 2024. This interdisciplinary program is focused on engaging students with scholarly theories and practical tools for careers leading organizational and societal change for greater diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice. The workload consists of a combination of teaching (both virtual and in-person courses) and service (program administration and student advising) obligations equivalent to six courses per academic year. The selected candidate will be expected to contribute to rotating leadership efforts such as directing the certificate and master’s programs.

Qualifications

Applicants should hold a doctoral degree in areas that include, but are not limited to, Organizational Leadership, Education, Urban and Environmental Planning, Child Study and Human Development, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Cultural Studies, and Political Science. In addition, demonstrated expertise and experience in diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice leadership, organizational change, critical theory, program evaluation, and data analytics are all areas of interest. The teaching, scholarship, and practice interests of the successful candidate should be in the areas around these themes broadly conceived. Strong candidates for the senior lecturer position must have, at minimum, 6 years of full-time teaching, leadership, and administrative experience - though even more experience in teaching and leadership is desirable. Familiarity or experience with the development and teaching of virtual synchronous and asynchronous courses is highly preferred.

Application Instructions

All applications are submitted via Interfolio at apply.interfolio.com/132767 . Note that applicants should supply (1) a concise letter of application outlining evidence of qualities that they would bring to the position, (2) a brief statement on teaching philosophy, topics, and experiences, (3) a Curriculum Vitae (CV); and (4) three letters of recommendation (uploaded directly by recommenders to Interfolio). As our program is committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice, candidates should highlight how they have (and will) support and promote these priorities in the classroom and workplace across their submitted materials.

Review of applications will begin on November 15th and continue until the position is filled.
