Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University-Worldwide, College of Aeronautics invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of instructor in the aviation English field. Prior experience in English for Specific Purposes and aviation operations is preferred. This is a fulltime faculty position that will be responsible for aviation English course design and development as well as delivering aviation English courses both online and classroom-based. The nature of the position will require that the chosen faculty member be well versed and proficient in materials writing.
A requirement of this position is to teach aviation English courses to aviation professionals and students in face-to-face and distributed modalities. The position will include curriculum development, including day-to-day materials, lesson plans, and assessment instruments. To uphold the quality of aviation English courses offered through Embry-Riddle-Worldwide, it will be necessary for the candidate to maintain currency in the major trends in the fields of English for Specific/Occupational Purposes, language assessment, and English language teaching, in addition to various aviation-related fields in which English is a factor (piloting, maintenance, and air traffic control).
Candidates must have earned Master’s Degree in Applied Linguistics or TESOL. The candidate must also have relevant English as a Second or Foreign Language experience. A background in aviation is desired, as well as experience in English for Specific Purposes contexts, creating materials, and teaching online. International teaching experience is preferred.
