The successful candidate will be a specialist in the ethical dimensions of science, technology, and engineering with a promising research program and an innovative pedagogical approach. This faculty member will teach six classes an academic year including an ethics course required by the Biomedical Sciences program among others, and will have funding available to develop a speaker and/or workshop series on STEM ethics. The candidate will also work with the department faculty and chair to establish an interdisciplinary master’s degree and contribute to a well-established Bachelor of Science in Technical Communication program.
Ph.D. in Ethics, Philosophy and Ethics, or an interdisciplinary program (e.g., Science & Technology Studies, Engineering Studies, etc.) with a strong focus in ethics, by August 1, 2019, evidence of scholarly potential, excellence in college-level teaching, and exceptional project management and communication skills. Preference will be given to candidates with a research agenda complementary to the mission of New Mexico Tech, and experience in program development and leadership in curricular and co-curricular student activities.
Communications, Liberal Arts, and Social Sciences is a vibrant multidisciplinary department of scholars from Technical Communications, Science & Technology Studies, History, and Composition Studies.
