The Department of Writing, Rhetoric, and Digital Studies in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky invites applicants for a non-tenure eligible full-time Lecturer position to begin August 1, 2023. The selected candidate will be appointed to a nine-month faculty position for an initial two-year period that has the potential for renewal and for promotion to Senior Lecturer after five years. Areas of desired emphasis include pedagogy, first year writing expertise, and areas of research that fit within the department’s overall mission and vision.

Writing, Rhetoric, and Digital Studies (WRD) is an independent department with 17 faculty members. We offer a BA/BS in Writing, Rhetoric, and Digital Studies and a minor in Professional and Technical Writing. Our dynamic faculty teach and research rhetorical theory, professional writing, public rhetorics, digital rhetorics, cultural rhetorics and ethnic studies, and more. WRD offers faculty interdisciplinary graduate teaching opportunities, is building a new digital lab for research and teaching and offers exciting opportunities for community outreach and research. A Phd in English or Writing is required.
