Job Summary/Basic Function:The Department of English at the University of North Texas invites applications for a tenure-track advanced assistant or associate professor of fiction to join a thriving creative writing Ph.D./M.A. program with a strong scholarly emphasis. The successful candidate, to begin August 2020, will typically teach a 2/2 load including graduate and undergraduate workshops, form and theory courses, and will supervise graduate students’ theses and dissertations. Minimum Qualifications:Minimum required qualifications include an M.F.A. or Ph.D.; demonstrable excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching; experience supervising Ph.D./M.A. theses; an ability to teach Form and Theory of Prose; a significant publication record commensurate with rank, with a minimum of one book of fiction from a reputable house (two books preferred).
Preferred Qualifications:Qualification to teach in another genre and editorial experience are preferred, as is interest in working with American Literary Review.
