Worcester Polytechnic Institute's Humanities and Arts Department invites applications for a non-tenure-track Assistant Teaching Professor in Modern European history starting in August 2020. The successful candidate will receive a one-year appointment, with possibility of renewal. The HUA Department actively seeks to attract a diverse candidate pool as well as candidates committed to research deploying intersectional analyses of gender, race, class, sexuality, and disability.

For this history position, we especially seek scholars whose work develops transnational, international, comparative or global perspectives linking Europe to the wider world. The position requires promise of teaching excellence and versatility as well as strong evidence of scholarly potential. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in hand before August 2020.

Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, cover letter, and names and contact information for three references no later than March 31. The cover letter should feature the candidate's relevant teaching experience, area(s) of scholarly interest, and commitments to enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education. Review of applications will begin on March 20, 2020 and continue until the position is filled.
