The incumbent teaches assigned online courses, ensuring courses taught contain defined syllabi components, level and rigor of content, assessment and evaluation of student learning, outcomes and instructional effectiveness.

• Delivering high-quality instruction in a fully online format using Canvas • Supporting continuous improvement of academic programs and departmental goals • Collaborating effectively with departments across all levels of the University • Demonstrating excellence in online teaching at the undergraduate level • Communicating clearly and professionally in both written and verbal formats • Experience inworking with a diversestudent population • Maintaining strong organizational skills and timely responsiveness • Promoting collegiality and teamwork in a virtual academicenvironment

Essential Job Functions
• Demonstrate knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques appropriate to teaching, managing, motivating, evaluating and advising adult students • Interact with students in an appropriate, professional manner • Comply with departmental curriculum, grading standards, student performance data, attendance policies, textbook choices and assessments • Engage consistently with online courses through Canvas • Maintain effective written and verbal communication with students, faculty and department chair or designee • Comply with all legal and ethical obligations, including FERPA, ADA and other regulatory legislations

Qualifications
Earned Master’s Degree in English or Master’s degree in related area with 18 graduate credit hours in English. One year of online teaching experience.
