Assistant Professor of History
West Virginia University Institute of Technology (WVU Tech), part of the WVU system of campuses located in Beckley, WV, is currently inviting applications and nominations for the following employment opportunity:
The Department of History, English & Creative Arts in the College of Business, Humanities and Social Sciences invites applications for a nine month, full-time, tenure-track, benefits-eligible assistant professor with a specialization in European history to begin August 2019.
This position will be responsible for teaching introductory classes in world history and upper-level European history. The teaching load associated with this position is 4/4.
WVU Tech boasts a 12:1 student-to-faculty ratio and an average class size of 17 students, allowing personalized attention in a supportive environment. The successful candidate must possess a Ph.D. in History or ABD in History with a completion date no later than December 31, 2019. The candidate must have the ability to teach introductory classes in world history and upper-level European history and possess evidence of scholarly potential. An ability to teach non-western history is a plus. The position also requires teaching experience in traditional and online instruction.
