We seek a candidate in the field of Secondary English Education with a commitment to preparing teaching candidates to work in schools with linguistically and culturally diverse populations.
Position Summary
The candidate would reveal this commitment through excellence in the areas of teaching, service, and scholarship, and through collaborative efforts with other teacher preparation programs at the university.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The visiting faculty member will teach three courses per semester in 2022-2023.
Minimum Required Qualifications
Earned Doctorate in Secondary English Education or related field, or anticipated earned Doctorate in Secondary English Education or related field by August 2022
Demonstrated potential for maintaining an active research and publication agenda
Three or more years of Secondary English teaching experience in public school setting

Knowledge of edTPA or equivalent teacher performance assessment
Experience supervising teacher candidates in the field or in supervising teachers in a school
Experiences working with diverse populations of learners
Demonstrated potential for building community partnerships
Knowledge of accreditation processes
Experience providing professional development for teachers
Commitment to contributing to the department’s ongoing research and scholarship in English education
Mentorship of students in professional activities, such as presenting at academic conferences and writing journal articles
