About the role
The Lecturer in Digital Humanities contributes to the delivery of the University’s Strategic Plan in the interdisciplinary field of the Digital Humanities within the wider Humanities and Social Sciences as a key member of the School providing excellence in Research and Innovation, Teaching and Learning, and Service and Engagement. The Lecturer in Digital Humanities combines sound academic research expertise with teaching experience, is expected to be a Course Coordinator, and is gaining recognition for their contribution to research, teaching, and postgraduate supervision, and is contributing to community engagement.
To be successful in this position you will have:
– A PhD in a relevant field of the Humanities and Social Sciences combined with demonstrated experience in teaching and/or professional experience.
– Demonstrated experience delivering quality research outputs at a national level, with a capacity to supervise Honours and HDR students in a relevant area.
– Willingness to seek external research funding.
– Demonstrated experience in the development, delivery and review of courses and programs including the incorporation of contemporary research methods and interdisciplinary approaches.
– Research and/or teaching expertise in at least two of the following areas: digital humanities; digital cultures; social media; screen studies; contemporary media industries; digital interactive media; web-based media.
– Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to participate in a team environment.
– Willingness and ability to contribute to governance, organisational administration (including course coordination) and initiatives/activities within the University.
– Knowledge of, and experience in adhering to workplace policies and procedures in the areas of work health safety, equity, diversity and promoting a respectful workplace culture.

Salary Academic Level B – from AU$95,351 per annum plus contributory superannuation with Unisuper, attracting a generous employer contribution of 17%.
