Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is now hiring an Educational Specialist/Language Instructor for the Embry-Riddle Language Institute (ERLI), an Intensive English Program at the Daytona Beach campus. The primary purpose of this position will be teaching, teaching-related administrative duties, advising, and program development.

Responsibilities include the following:
Teach all assigned classes at scheduled times. A full load for full-time faculty is four classes.
Organize instructional planning according to objectives in the ERLI curriculum
Oversee the continuous improvement of courses to strengthen their content, to include coverage of all curricula
Complete and submit syllabi, course plans, diagnostic & final exams, Early & Midterm Alerts, and other required documents by due dates
Keep attendance records daily online
Keep grade records and report grades weekly
Assess student academic progress on an ongoing basis through the use of sufficient and appropriate measures
Keep office hours and tutor current students as needed
Provide academic advisement for ERLI students including, but not limited to, help with issues with coursework, academic intervention, and success strategies
Contribute positively to student success and student service in philosophy, attitude, and performance
Participate in required faculty meetings
Participate in professional development activities as found in the ERLI Faculty Professional Development Policy
Perform other duties as assigned by the ERLI Director

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree in TESOL or Applied Linguistics
Comfortable using computer technology for administrative and teaching purposes
1 year experience teaching at the college level
Native or near-native oral and written English fluency

Preferred Qualifications:
1+ years experience teaching EFL abroad
2+ years experience teaching at an intensive English program
Experience presenting and/or publishing in TESOL field
Certificate in TESOL (100+ class hours plus monitored practicum)
TESOL local or national affiliation
Bi-lingual
