The Department of English at Auburn University invites applications for a beginning or an advanced tenure-track Assistant Professor of Rhetoric and Composition, with specialization in Writing Program Administration, to begin August 2021.

The successful candidate will assume an immediate leadership role as Director of Composition. Standard teaching assignment for tenure track faculty is 2-2; course load while se1ving in this administrative position is 1-1, based on a renewable, three-year term. The Department of English actively recognizes writing program administration as a site of scholarly work and professional advancement, and in addition to collaborating with colleagues to develop the first-year writing program, the candidate will have opportunities to shape an undergraduate major in Professional and Public Writing and MA and PhD concentrations in Rhetoric and Composition. We are particularly interested in candidates who can advance the Department’s commitment to building a diverse and inclusive educational community through research, teaching, and administrative activity.
