The School of Letters, Art and Media (SLAM) is one of Australia's most active Arts and Humanities Research Centres, in Sydney, nationally and internationally. It is dedicated to excellence, innovation and high achievement in Undergraduate and Postgraduate research and to the support of its student and academic research activities and careers.
Applications are invited for a Lectureship -- Level B in Media and Communications, with a primary responsibility to conduct teaching and research in the Public Relations Area at Postgraduate level, as well as contribute to the teaching of Media Relations at Undergraduate level.
The successful candidate will teach a variety of units of study, including: Dealing with the Media; Organisational Communication, Media Relations, Strategy Selection in Corporate PR, PR Management and Conflict Resolution and may be called on to teach in the Political Communication Strand, when required. The successful candidate will also be required to assist with curriculum development and administration.
The Media and Communications Department offers four coursework Master's Degrees, Postgraduate Research Degrees and a four year Undergraduate Degree at both pass and Honours levels. Located in the central Camperdown campus, the Department is in proximity to the key business and cultural precincts of this cosmopolitan and dynamic city.
The position is full-time, continuing, subject to the completion of a satisfactory probation and/or confirmation period for new appointees. Membership in a University approved superannuation scheme is a condition of employment for new appointees. International applicants will be assisted with relocation funding.
Remuneration Package: a competitive remuneration package is available, consisting of a Level B salary range ($76,250.00 - $90,546) plus leave loading and up to 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation.
