Do you have a desire to assist first-generation, economically disadvantaged or underrepresented students succeed in college and prepare for graduate studies? The McNair Scholars Program of Kansas State University is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Educational Programs Coordinator to coordinate academic support services for students accepted into the McNair Scholars Program, especially for providing writing instruction to help students improve their ability to write with clear purpose and focus, audience-based development, accessible organization, genre-appropriate style, and professional editing.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field (or work equivalent) and one or more years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
1-3 years of experience working with diverse populations from varied socio-economic backgrounds.
1-3 years of experience in teaching or tutoring writing.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including for publications, websites, electronic newsletters, etc.
Highly self-motivated and directed, with demonstrated ability to work independently.
Understanding of and commitment to the KSU Principles of Community.
Master’s degree in English or other writing intensive field.
Ability to foster a cooperative environment within the department and its constituencies in a diverse population.
Experience working with students in higher education.
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Experience and demonstrated proficiency in public speaking.
