NNUB Summer Literature and Composition Instructor

Location: Moscow

Division/College: College of Education, Health & Human Sciences

Employee Category: Temporary

Pay Range: $15.00 per hour or more depending on experience

Full/Part Time: Part Time

Position Summary:

Provides engaging instruction in literature and composition to high school students of culturally diverse backgrounds. The Upward Bound curriculum is driven by hands-on experiences, the use of technology in the classroom, community-driven and thematic programming, and career exploration.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in related field or a combination of related education and related experience totaling 4 years.

Demonstrated teaching experience.

Background in English or related area.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Experience working with a culturally diverse high school student population.

Employment will be contingent upon satisfactory completion of a criminal background investigation.

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters Degree in related field.

Knowledge of Upward Bound target areas.

Secondary or Post-secondary teaching experience.

Working knowledge of Mindset Theory.

Knowledge of interactive and/or innovative teaching techniques.

Experience developing curriculum
