The Frank W. & Sue Mayborn School of Journalism at the University of North Texas in Denton invites applications for a continuing, non-tenure track appointment as lecturer in broadcast/video journalism to begin in the Spring 2018 semester. This full-time faculty member should be prepared to produce an online student newscast and teach classes in multi-platform journalism, print and/or broadcast/video news writing, television magazine and program producing, social media integration, online journalism, principles of news, long form/project journalism and other courses as needed by the school. Experience teaching online courses is a plus. The faculty member will participate in department activities and serve on committees. Excellence in teaching and mentoring students and alumni are of primary importance.

Minimum Qualifications:
By the time of appointment, candidates must have a master’s degree (or higher) in journalism, communications or another relevant field. The successful candidate must have professional experience in broadcast/video journalism. Applicants with a master’s degree in other disciplines who have extensive professional broadcast/video experience will also be considered. The candidate must be willing and able to mentor a diverse population of journalism students.
