The Department of Modern Languages and Classics at Ball State University is seeking applicants for a full-time tenure track faculty position as Generalist capable of teaching a full range of courses in German, available August 18, 2017.
Major Responsibilities: Teach a full range of courses in German language, linguistics and culture; commitment to excellence in teaching and scholarly research; willingness to participate in departmental activities, serve on committees, and engage in community outreach.
Minimum Qualifications: Doctorate in German or appropriate related field earned by August 18, 2017; native or near-native fluency in German and English; evidence of successful college-level teaching; evidence of potential to publish peer-reviewed scholarship; willingness to commit to active engagement in departmental, university, and community activities and service.
Preferred qualifications: Record of active scholarship and publication; evidence of effective use of instructional technology; experience with online, hybrid or emerging media materials and teaching strategies; interdisciplinary interests; involvement in appropriate professional organizations.
