The Mayborn School of Journalism: We are an ACEJMC-accredited school with Texas’s only accredited journalism master’s program. We are located in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, in the fifth largest media market in the country. We enroll approximately 1,200 undergraduate students and 40 graduate students. Graduates have won many national and international awards including Cannes Lions and Pulitzer Prizes. The school offers students multi-platform professional opportunities and is home to an award-winning student newspaper, the North Texas Daily (www.NTDaily.com), a community-access television station, an online radio station, and student-run photography and ad/PR agencies. The school also hosts the nationally acclaimed annual Mayborn Literary Nonfiction Conference. We offer study abroad programs in the United Kingdom, Japan and Mexico.

University of North Texas: With nearly 38,000 students, UNT is the nation’s 25th largest public university. As the largest, most comprehensive university near Dallas-Fort Worth, UNT drives the North Texas region. UNT offers 97 bachelor’s, 88 master’s and 40 doctoral degree programs. Many of our programs are nationally and internationally recognized. A student-focused public research university, UNT is the flagship of the UNT system.

The University of North Texas System is firmly committed to equal opportunity and does not permit – and takes actions to prevent – discrimination, harassment (including sexual violence), and retaliation on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, family status, genetic information, citizenship or veteran status in its application and admission processes, educational programs and activities, facilities, and employment practices. The University of North Texas System immediately investigates and takes remedial action when appropriate.

The University of North Texas System also takes actions to prevent retaliation against individuals who oppose a discriminatory practice, file a charge, or testify, assist or participate in an investigative proceeding or hearing. By the time of appointment, candidates must have a master’s degree (or higher) in journalism, communications, public relations, digital communications or another field relevant to the classes taught. The successful candidate must have three to five years of professional experience in digital communications with strong skills in one or more of the following topics: social media analytics, data visualization, coding and statistical analysis. Applicants with a master’s degree in other disciplines who have extensive professional digital communications experience will also be considered.
