The Museum Technician performs a wide variety of art preparation and art installation work with an emphasis on the safe handling of works of art during receipt, installation, storage, packing and shipment to the highest museum standards. This role requires the utilization of carpentry/construction and other fabrication skills to make necessary structures for museum-quality display, storage, and shipment of permanent collections and loan objects. This position works closely with registrars, conservators, curators, photographer and collections management staff in storage and on exhibition related duties. Under the direction of department manager and supervisor, the Museum Technician ensures timely execution of multiple projects.
